Les Contamines Montjoie is in a secluded spot at the head of the Saint Gervais valley and is very easy to get to. Its around an hour and a quarter's drive away from Geneva airport or two hours from Lyon.

By Car

Haute-Savoie is at the cross-roads of the European motorway system: Germany to Spain via Switzerland; France to Italy via the Autoroute Blanche and the Mont-Blanc Tunnel.

Les Contamines is approximately 550miles (880km) from Calais and the Channel Tunnel - It is auto-route all the way and the roads are really good. It takes about 7-8 hours and the auto-route tolls cost up to £90 return for a car (price correct as of December 2008).

Distances from Les Contamines to:Geneva 48miles (77km); Lyon 136miles (219km); Marseilles 273miles (440km) and Paris 379miles (610km).

Train

There are direct services available from London to Le Fayet St Gervais, which is the TGV train station at the foot of Val Montjoie / St Gervais valley. From here you can take the S.A.T bus up the valley to Les Contamines (takes approximately 20 mins).

The mainline railhead of Saint Gervais-Le Fayet offers direct connections to a number of European destinations Paris - Lyon - Marseilles - Nantes - Strasbourg - Nice - Brussels - Bordeaux.
